Maui
Academy of the Healing Arts-School of Massage (MAHA) is a vocational
school licensed by the State of Hawaii, Department of Education since
1988. The Academy is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association
(AMTA) Council of Schools and International Massage & Movement Association
(IMMA). We are authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant
alien students qualified for M-1 status. MAHA is not accredited by any
private, accrediting organization.
We offer a one-year preparatory training program in massage therapy
for Hawaii state licensing, continuing education for licensed therapists,
and classes and workshops offered to the general public for self-development.
The completion of the 600-hour, multi-disciplinary massage program prepares
students for the Hawaii State Licensing Exam and successful careers
in massage therapy and bodywork.
The primary goal and mission of the Maui Academy of the Healing
Arts is to provide quality, state of the art education and career development
in the field of massage and related therapies. Our students learn
massage in a caring, respectful environment. Massage is a nourishing
practice that can promote health, acceptance and compassion.
