Benefits of Attending The Maui Academy
of Healing Arts
Moderate Class Sizes
- You Get More Attention
Our classes usually consist of 16 - 22 students, providing each
student the opportunity to receive adequate one-on-one teacher interaction.
We strive to make sure that each student is cared for as an individual.
Our moderate class sizes and commitment to our student's personal
and professional development facilitates our ability to provide quality,
state of the art education and career development. Our students
learn massage in a caring, respectful environment. Massage is a nourishing
practice that is intended to promote health, self acceptance and compassion
for each other.
We offer two one-year training programs in massage therapy. The
completion of our 600 hour multidisciplinary program qualifies students
for the Hawaii state licensing exam and the National Certification exam
(NCBTMB). Continuing education classes for licensed therapists, and
workshops for the general public are also offered.
Maui Academy of the Healing Arts-School of Massage (MAHA) is
a vocational school licensed by the State of Hawaii, Department of
Education since 1988. We also work with the State of Hawaii Department
of Vocational Rehabilitation to assist individuals in making a successful
transition into a new career as massage therapists. The Academy is
a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) Council
of Schools. We are authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant
alien students qualified for M-1 status which will grant a student visa
for the year long program. MAHA is also affiliated with ITEC,
an international accreditation agency for our programs in Anatomy, Physiology,
and Holistic Massage which can be helpful in obtaining jobs internationally.
